Mission

CymaSpace is a non-profit performance venue & technology incubator in Portland, Oregon.

At CymaSpace, we present live performing arts events enhanced by specialized equipment and installations which translate audio information into sight (light) and touch (vibration).

Cymatics is the science of wave phenomena (especially sound wave phenomena) and their visual and tactile representations.

CymaSpace facilitates research and development of new and emerging cymatic technology, hosting workshops and forums, and supporting an in-house team of tech innovators.

Our mission is to make the performing arts more accessible and inclusive to Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities by supporting the development of projects utilizing cymatic technology and presenting these works in live performance.

We believe that when we, as artists, engage more of the senses, our work is not only more accessible and inclusive, but also more engaging and exciting to you, our audience.

Come to CymaSpace and see a show; you’ll experience the arts in an entirely new way.
